What is the Investors Association of Canada?
The Investors Association of Canada (IAC) is a nationally chartered non-profit association of individual investors. The primary objective of the IAC is to be a source of investor education by providing basic as well as timely investment information.

What are the Benefits of Joining IAC?
IAC communicates with its members mainly through its website and its monthly online publication, Money Digest. Money Digest is a personal finance periodical which provides information such as:

  • What is currently happening in the financial world.
  • Which investments are doing well.
  • What new financial products are on the market.
  • What is happening to the economy and how does it affect your investments.
  • What foreign investments are attractive and how to invest in them.

Investment information
The articles in Money Digest cover new products, different types of investments, personal financial planning, insurance, retirement strategies and a lot more. The articles are always short and to the point. While many Money Digest readers are sophisticated, things are always explained in easy-to-understand language.

Books at a discount
Money Digest also contains a listing of investment books available to members, usually at a discount. Currently this service temporarily suspended and will resume as we complete constructing the website.

How About Direct Advice on Specific Investments?
We do not give buy and sell advice. All information about specific investments given by IAC is confined to what is on the website and in Money Digest. While we do mention specific investments to illustrate specific strategies, Money Digest simply provides the facts and relevant information. The individual investor must decide to act or not act upon the information.

Some Topics Covered in Money Digest
Money Digest covers a variety of topics that are of interest to investors. The topics vary depending on what is happening around us. Some common themes are:

  • How to plan your finances
  • How to invest in mutual funds for maximum benefit
  • How to protect your capital
  • How to get maximum return on your money
  • How to invest for profits while minimizing risks
  • Real estate and gold as investments - rewards and risks
  • What stocks are discounted
  • What is new in insurance

The articles in Money Digest are short and to the point. Everything is simply and clearly explained.

Should you Join IAC?
Because Money Digest provides timely and actionable information regarding your personal finances, we believe that anyone concerned with his or her financial future should join IAC and start reading Money Digest.

Who Can Join IAC?
Membership in IAC is open to anyone who would like to join. There are two classes of membership: Associate Membership (called 'members') and Voting Membership (called 'voting members'). Voting members can vote in association elections and, after 5 years, can run for office. Except for these differences associate Members enjoy the same privileges.
